Overview
The presence or absence of coding ability is the fundamental difference between mRNA and lncRNAs, and this prediction tool distinguishes the two based on coding ability. We selected an optimized fish RNA prediction program based on a previous analysis (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33055239/). Briefly, CPAT (for zebrafish models only) and CPC2 will be used to predict the coding capacity of the uploaded RNA sequence. An RNA sequence was flagged as a transcript with uncertain coding potential (TUCP) when the predictions of the two tools disagreed, otherwise it was flagged as the predicted type, mRNA or lncRNA.
