1. Marker number of each cell type in fishes

FishSCT stored 964 / 26,965 marker / potential marker gene information of 245 cell type.

  • Clicking on the figure of a fish will switch to a statistical figure of that species.

2. Phylogenetic tree of species in FishSCT

The phylogenetic tree of 9 species was made by TimeTree public resource (http://www.timetree.org/).

  • FishSCT covers 9 species, which are classified into model, economic, ornamental and ecological fish according to several article introduction.
  • These species are covered Cypriniformes, Characiformes, Perciformes/Gasterosteoidei, Cyprinodontiformes, Beloniformes, Cichliformes, Synbranchiformes, Salmoniformes.
  • Danio rerio is one of the most studied model species and the most important research object in the FishSCT. In addition, Oryzias latipes is also a model species that has been studied a lot.
  • Oncorhynchus mykiss belong to Salmoniformes, while Salmonids' gene fractionation may still be ongoing in their lineage because of an additional and relatively recent WGD event (SaGD: salmonid-specific whole genome duplication event).

3. Dataset distribution

FishSCT collected 129 datasets of 8 species from the GEO and SRA database. Among them, Danio rerio datasets are up to 117.

  • The datasets in FishSCT cover 30 tissue / organ types. Among them, Danio rerio datasets cover 25 tissue / organ types at 36 time points in the growth and development stage of Danio rerio.
  • We manually classified 129 datasets according to experiment types (eg: baseline: 83 datasets). And we organized the relevant information of 45 articles.
  • FishSCT stored marker information and expression profile data for 245 cell types. Users can get friendly visualization services on the page.
  • Information of 964 / 26,965 markers / potential markers is available on the page and is available for free download.
